I've built a new FOP2 server in order to use 2.28 and because our current one was built in a hurry some time ago and just doesn't seem to work very well (mainly our fault, not FOP2's fault)

So I've got FOP2 installed and have configured the manager so that it can communicate with the database. I can log into the manager, but I see this message on most pages: "FOP2 Server is not responding. Be sure the service is running!"

FOP2 is running, I can log in using a user created with the manager, or a user created manually.

Because of this (I assume) I can't get the manager to upgrade from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 and I can't install any plugins.

Could this perhaps be a file or folder permissions issue? Could it be because I'm running a trail license on this server? (I don't want to de-activate our production server as I test this new one)

Also, this may be related, it may not... when I log into FOP2, I don't see anything but the "Filter", "Dial", 'Availability' and 'Logout' items. The rest is white. Is there a PHP file I need to configure somewhere? (maybe PHP short tags issue? I think I'd seen that before with either FOP2 or another similar app.)

I guess that works, considering all my users should have access.

    Anything?

Example: search for user "Jane Doe" in the group "HR" by typing "Jane".

Jane's name doesn't come up and the HR group block is missing, completely. If I search for "HR" I get all of the HR people's names in the results and the HR group is visible.

    Ideas?

edit: this does not happen to ALL users, only some. All of the users are configured manually in buttons.cfg and their settings appear otherwise identical to other users' settings.

I can force refresh my page and it comes back, but this is becoming pretty ridiculous.

My PBX is Vanilla Asterisk, FOP2 is running on Ubuntu 13.04 server and my MySQL database is on another Ubuntu 13.04 server. The FOP2 server can see the MySQL database with no trouble.

Every hour or so, (I haven't timed it because I'm too busy) if I click on the phonebook icon in FOP2, I get the "you do not have permission..." message.

I then refresh my browser and bam! it works again.

    Ideas?

I am using vanilla Asterisk and my transfer to mailbox just rings the extension.

Where do I start to troubleshoot?

This was actually a MySQL issue. I was able to fix it.

I've sent a few requests for a quote on this with no response. I was told you'd be back to me weeks ago.

Are you guys still working on FOP at all?

xeper started the conversation Phonebook constantly giving permission notice..

I'm not sure where to check on this, but the phonebook is constantly giving those with the "phonebook" permission the notice of "You do not have permission to access this resource"

This was working not too long ago. I think the updates software you guys sent me is what stopped it from working. Maybe I'm missing a MySQL login somewhere, but I don't recall where it goes.

Any ideas what I can check to fix this?

edit: the MySQL credentials are correct in config.php file.

Here is, I guess, another way to ask or go about this...

Is there some way to have a chat to a specific user (or broadcast to group) open up automatically upon logging into the site?

If it's possible, I could either pay you to code it, or if you could give me some direction, I could do it myself.
