It would be nice to display the status of day-night switches so the operator can see them, perhaps on top to the right of the status drop down box.

Day/Night mode is non standard, so there is no "one" way to set it up. Even in freepbx you can set it in different ways, with overrides and the like, so it is not something you can easily track.
An additional little html/php snippet can be added to the fop2 screen, but outside of the fop2 application itself.
