I need to know if we can retrieve "__FROM_DID" variable with PHP in Fop2?
Any advice and suggestions is appreciated.

You probably can... edit manager.conf and set the channelvars setting in the [general] section, something like this:
channelvars=FROM_DID
Then you should be able to use that variable in FOP2 popups #{FROM_DID}, in the FOP2 Chrome extension, or directly in checkdir.php
